The FiiO KA11 is a tiny USB DAC dongle designed for listeners who want more capable headphone output without carrying a bulky portable amplifier. Weighing only about 8.5g, it uses a Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC and delivers up to 200mW per channel at 32Ω through its 3.5mm single-ended output. That makes it particularly well suited to IEMs and other easy-to-drive portable headphones.
In everyday use, the KA11 focuses more on practicality than advanced features. Its sound is generally clean and smooth, with a slightly full-bodied presentation that works well with a wide range of IEMs. The low output impedance is also useful for low-impedance and multi-driver earphones, while its noise performance is good enough for most typical IEMs.
The main limitation is its 3.5mm-only design. There is no 4.4mm balanced output, physical volume control, or high-voltage output designed for demanding high-impedance headphones. Although the KA11 can produce plenty of power at 32Ω, its output drops considerably at 300Ω, making it better suited to IEMs and efficient portable headphones than difficult-to-drive full-size models.
